90% Vermentino and 10% Lagrein, each variety was picked and fermented separately, the final wine was blended and bottled just prior to the Lagrein finishing ferment to create the Petillant Naturel style sparkling.Lighter in pink colour this year, this perennial favourite is, I think, improving each year we make it.
Dryer and more textural than previous years, the nose hints at sweet berries mixed with an undercurrent of lime and sea spray. The palate opens again with the fruit sweetness, almost raspberry lolly like fruitiness, but is super dry, the acid accentuated by the fine spritz of bubbles, whilst the Lagrein provides a slightly earthy, moreish element. Summer party vibe, but with depth and interest.
