Woolgoolga Brewing Co

Wallygoogle. Woolygoggle. Woolygooly. We just couldn’t get it right. “The locals call it Whoopi” Ryan tells me in a well rehearsed line. (Woolgoolga is a lot easier to say when you see it written down.) It’s a lovely coastal town just out of Coffs Harbour on NSWs North Coast - the perfect place to open a brewery! Which is exactly what two of the nicest people on the planet, Sarah and Ryan Poole, did in 2021. In 2022 they were joined by Charlie Hodgson as head brewer (ex Helios, Mash Brewing) who set about creating a bangin’ core range - one which we rate highly.

But keep an eye out for their special release IPAs. Clearly this is Charlie’s happy place. Clean, punchy and proper. It was a Black IPA collaboration with Lachy from Well Brewed (ex Ballistic) that caught out attention. And now, just like the Whoopi locals, we’re massive fans!
