What are we getting?

 She pours out a clean, bright pale straw colour with a fluffy white head. Soft bready, slightly chewy malts carry a balanced flavour & aroma profile of tropical fruits leading up to a clean medium bitter finish. Refreshing easy drinking pale ale brewed with our sub-tropical climate in mind. Dangerously drinkable all year round.

When to drink and what to pair it with? You should drink this beer straight out of an esky filled with a butt ton of ice. Icy Cold, straight from the tin! Pour it into a glass if you insist you sophisticated so & so! Suitable accompaniment for a Gathering of Friends. Perfect après any activity that involves the beach or salt water. Use it to wash down some Fish Tacos or Chicken Quesadillas. Gluggable!

Who is this beer for? Brewed on the GC. This beer has been brewed with our climate in mind & to appeal to a wide-ranging audience. Bearded Poindexter’s might sneer at it, that is not the point here. It’s approachable easy drinking style makes it perfect for any occasion. And it might just get ya mate Davo off the Black Fish & onto something a little better.

Why do we like this beer? Where do we start? She is homegrown. Brewed right here in SE QLD. Gotta love a local brew. It’s crisp & clean. With enough malt backbone to let you know you’re not drinking some namby pamby lager. There are enough hops to give you some punchy tropical flavours & a medium dry bitter finish. Widely available & affordable. Refreshing, easy drinking ale that suits any occasion.

Black Hops was started in 2014 by three mates on the Gold Coast as a gypsy outfit. Fast forward 5 years they now have 3 breweries and a wall full of trophies, including Australia's 2018 AIBA Champion Small Brewery and 2019 and 2021 RQFWS Champion Brewery. We love their hop forward approach to brewing and their openness to sharing their journey and knowledge to adoring fans.

IN-STORE: if you live in Brisbane drop into one of our two awesome shops. You’ll find My Beer Dealer Caxton Street under our mothership Brewski – it’s one of the few drink-in bottle shops in Brisbane complete with 10 taps for growler and can fills. And My Beer Dealer Eagle Junction is in Clayfield in Brisbane’s north (right next to Eagle Junction train station) with a killer range of beers, wines and spirits.

ONLINE: Choose from our free Click & Collect service from either shop or we’ll package your order up and deliver it pretty much anywhere in Australia for $10 (for up to 20kg). If you’re in a major city your parcel will travel with Aus Post Wine Service.

We’re Antoinette, Natasha, Matt and Simon. We’re good booze lovers just like you. We started our beery journey in 2013 when we opened the famous Brewski on Brisbane’s infamous Caxton Street. In 2018 we opened our first My Beer Dealer under Brewski, it’s one of the few drink-in bottle shops in Queensland and we’re super chuffed with it. 2020 was a big year for us, we launched our online store (you’re looking at it) and opened our second bricks ‘n mortar shop next to Eagle Junction station in Brisbane’s Clayfield (we’re super chuffed with it as well). Both of these have allowed us to complement our awesome beer range with our other passions of good wine and good spirits.

As we’re a small family run business we prefer to support other family businesses and small producers, ensuring that when you visit us it’s not the same old, same old.
